Top 3 Ways to Live Healthy While Running Your Own Business

Since my birthday (April 23, 2015) I have been very focused on living as healthy a lifestyle as I can. This doesn't mean that I've gone on some crazy diet. Instead, I am simply finding all the tools I can to maximixe my time and optomize my body. This has resulted in losing some extra weight that I've been carrying around and generally feeling much better. How do I do this and also run a business full-time?

Here are my top 3 tricks for healthy living for entrepreneurs and/or any other very busy person! (ahem, parents...)

1. Wake Up Early: There has to be a reason for this. There is, fortunately. I have a gym class to get to at 5:30am. We can thank my cousin Jill for taking me to a SoulCycle class in NYC. I now am going to any local cycle class I can. Fortunately, for me, my 24hr Fitness membership offers cycle classes all over town at multiple times each day. So, my alarm goes off at 4:40am. This allows for time to get up, stretch, wash up and go! I'm able to fill up my water and blast my music on the way. Then, by 6:30am, I am driving home watching the sunrise.

Because it's still so early I have time to walk my dogs, eat a hearty protein-full breakfast, shower and get to the office early. On days we take the boy to school, we save the dog walk for later.

Now, I am on my computer by 9am and my workout is done and I can focus on my business.

2. Meal Prep: This is the definitely one of the biggest factors to my success. It is imperative that I eat at home or eat my own prepared meals as often as possible. I know that lean proteins and a low fat diet is key for me (except for that half and half in my coffee). I don't eat any sugar. I only eat low-glycemic veggies.

Each night while Todd is making dinner (yes, really) I am making lunch for us for the next day. Typically I make similar things for us to eat at the office on the daily:

- Unwich with romaine lettuce, low fat cheese, mustard, spinach and turkey or chicken and tomatos

- Broccoli to steam

- Green beans to steam

- Roasted sea weed

- Pure Protein Shake

- Low- fat salmon or tuna

- Hard boiled egg(whites)

If I do this consistently, I never get hungry at lunch and I always have healthy and fresh snacks at my finger tips. There isn't enough time in the day, so doing this the night before- or during those early morning hours- gets it out of the way. Hey, I know many of you reading this already do this for your kids! Take care of you, first!

3. Track With Tech: Everything I eat is on record. Everything I drink is on record. Every step I take is on record. It's the most ORDERED my eating has ever been. As a former obese child, this is the thing that has kept me most accountable to fight an overeating disorder.

There are multiple apps out there, so many wearable trackers. I use the following technologies to track my progress if you're looking for some ideas:

Lose It app- premium version let's you meal plan and add recipes

Lose It bluetooth connected scale- when I step on the scale it auto-syncs to my phone!

FItBit- I have generation 1 fitbit, but it's great for steps and sleep

24hr Fitness app- this gives me class schedules daily as well as all my gym check-ins

Eat Healthy Meditation- I fall asleep to this visualization nightly

There are the top 3 factors that have made me successful in living a healthy lifestyle daily. What do you do to stay healthy?
